A perfect marriage? Adam and Eve

A perfect marriage?

Adam and Eve

Adam and Eve had an ideal perfect marriage. Adam didn't have to hear about all the men that Eve could have married, and Eve didn't have to hear about the way Adam's mother cooked those great meals.
And neither one of them had a mother-in-law to contend with....

Perfect marriage....

Boy from India marries a hill...?

RANCHI, India (AFP) - A teenage boy in a tribal village in eastern India wed a hill in order to appease its goddess and remove a curse placed on his mother, a report said.

The boy, Robin, married a hill named Lakshmi after the goddess of prosperity in the presence of a large number of witnesses in Jharkand state, the Hindustan Times said.

The boy's mother, who had fallen and hurt herself while trying to climb the hill, believed the goddess was unhappy with her. She started to pray to Lakshmi and after three months the deity visited her in a dream.

"The hill goddess asked me to get my son married with her. The marriage will help in getting rid of her curse," said Keswar Devi, who lives in Bordih village, some 170 kilometers (105 miles) southeast of the state capital Ranchi.

"I requested my son and he agreed for the marriage."

On Tuesday, Robin wore a traditional bridegroom's outfit and set out on foot with a large festive party from his village to the hill three kilometers away.
The 400 villagers washed the hill with water and Robin placed a garland at the top.
After the priest performed the wedding rituals, a reception was thrown by the groom's family.
"I have accepted the hill as my wife," said Robin. "I have no remorse."

A local anthropologist said it was not uncommon for tribal people to marry objects or animals.
"There are scores of examples that tribal people got married with trees, dogs and other animals," former Ranchi University anthropology professor V.S. Uppadhyah told AFP. "Their life is inextricably associated with nature."

Anything is possible

This is a P-51 Mustang and it was built over 30 years after the first plane was flown.

Funny that the first plane was flown for 3 years before the newspapers would cover the story as no one believed it....until a movie was made and shown of the flights....!!!!

In 1877, the Methodists held their annual conference at Westfield College in Illinois. David Foster writes about it in his book "Accept No Mediocre Life". The President of the college said, "I believe we are coming into a time of great inventions. For example, I believe men will fly through the air like birds."

The bishop accused him of heresy! "The Bible says flight is reserved for the angels so we'll have no such talk here."
(Funny I have an earned Master's degree in the Bible and I have never read that anywhere in the Bible)

Some people use the Bible to explain why certain things can't happen. I believe that's a gross misinterpretation. I think the Bible explains why anything can happen.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." "All things are possible." "God is able to immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine."

For what it's worth, the unbelieving bishop's name was Wright.

He had two sons named Orville and Wilbur Wright. They didn't have government issued pilot licenses! But that didn't keep them from flying! God has a funny way of doing things...they had no building permits either...

George Bernard Shaw said, "Some men see things as they are and ask, 'Why?' I dream of things that never were and ask, 'Why not'?"

I'm praying that God would raise up a 'Why Not Generation' - a generation of dreamers that asks "why not". Why Not?
